Terms and conditions for hiring at The Bridge

Terms of cancellation

Cancellation will be accepted with no penalty 4 weeks before the hire of The Bridge Centre, therefore after our our sliding scale of charges will apply:  Cancellation under 4 weeks 1/4 free. Under 3 weeks 1/2 free. Under 2 weeks full fee is payable.


An invoice will be sent immediately following the event. The full balance is payable within 30 days. Some bookings may require deposits; this will be at the Manager’s discretion.


It is the responsibility of the Hirer to have suitable Public Liability Insurance cover. The Hirer shall indemnify The Bridge Centre against claims, actions or proceedings and loss , damage or injury to persons/property during the period of hire. The Bridge Centre is insured against any claims arising out of its own negligence.


The Hirer shall, on making the booking, inform The Bridge Centre of his/her requirements of café facilities, and shall be responsible for any extra charge incurred.

Responsible person

The Hirer must ensure that there is a representative of their organisation on the premises during the period of hire. The Hirer is responsible of the action and behaviour of their group.


The Hirer should keep a record of the persons on the premises as part of the Hire in case of a fire and/or building evacuation. If the Fire Alarm sounds please ensure all the group members are swiftly evacuated from the building – the meeting point is by the refuse area on Priory Road.


All accidents must be reported to the Centre staff and entered into the the accident report book (kept in the reception office and children’s area). Signs in the building indicate the location of First Aid boxes, which are kept on each floor.


The Hirer shall indemnify The Bridge for the cost of repair of any damage done to any part of the property or the contents of the building during or as a result of the booking. Damages should be reported to the Centre Manager, who will report to the Trustees who will take the appropriate action.


Please consider our neighbours and and others users by keeping noise to a reasonable level.


The Hirer is requested to leave the room hired in its original clean and tidy state.


The Hirer shall be responsible for the observance of all regulations appertaining to the premises stipulated by the Licensing Justices, the Fire Authority, the Local Authority or otherwise. The Hirer shall be responsible for obtaining any licenses necessary in connection with the booking, other than those already held by The Bridge Centre.


The Hirer shall not sub-let or use the premises for any unlawful way nor do anything or bring anything which may endanger the premises, their users or any insurance policies relating thereto.

Alcohol consumption

Alcohol is permitted on the premises only when agreed in advance with the Management in observance appropriate to licensing laws.


No illegal substances or smoking are permitted at The Bridge Centre. All cigarette smokers will be designated to the smoking area outside the building when necessary.

Failure to comply

The Bridge Centre reserves the right to terminate any hire immediately in the event of the Hirer failing to observe or perform any of these Terms or Conditions. The Bridge Centre may retain the hiring fee.
